Filatov!
I am thrilled to announce that the Columbus Bluejackets have selected Nikita Filatov with their first pick in the NHL entry draft. According to sources at the draft, Filatov was the Jackets’ number 3 choice behind only Steven Stamkos (1) and Zach Bogosian (3). That’s pretty good. The place (Champps where the draft party was) went balistic when they announced him, and I saw Jakub and Brassard exchange excited words – Jake played against Filatov in the WJC.
Found a couple quotes from our new Nicky, and I love ‘em – and the kid speaks pretty good english, I heard an interview with him and I actually understood the guy. I’d peg him at an Ovechkin english speaker.
“I am not under contract and was not offered another contract since they know I want to play in NHL,” Filatov confirmed. “Growing up, I enjoyed watching (Pavel) Bure and (Sergei) Fedorov and to have a chance to play in the NHL like they did is a great feeling.”
“I’m prepared to do whatever Columbus asks me to do and if that means playing juniors for a year, I will do that,” he said. “I realize I just have to get stronger and bigger and I think I’ll be ready.”
“I like watching (Nikolai) and think he’s a very talented player,” Filatov said. “Of course, it’s very good that Columbus has a Russian player and I think it’s very good that I’ll be a part of a very young team. Maybe we can help bring a Stanley Cup to Columbus.”
I’m not gay or nothin, but I’m pretty sure I’d let this dude bang me.

Filatov, whose speed and deft touch around the goal has earned him comparisons to Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin, has openly admitted his desire to play in the NHL since he no longer has any contractual obligations in Russia. – nhl.com
