Cyclones Win the Cup!
The Cincinnati Cyclones clinched the Kelly Cup by beating the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-1 in front of 12,722 fans at US Bank Arena. This is the largest crowd in ECHL playoff history (I incorrectly reported a crowd in excess of 15,000 for their last game).
Goalie Cedrick Desjardins was named the playoff MVP – though I think it was a toss-up with David Desharnais - League MVP and winner of the scoring title.
I attended the game and it was a blast. You really can’t beat a packed house cheering like maniacs. I doubt many there could tell the difference between a blueline and a clothesline, but that didn’t matter. They were there to support the city’s only professional Championship team since the Reds in 1990.
What an experience

I bet that would’ve been sweet to attend. We’ll need to get together and talk about going to a game in pittsburgh next year, the outdoor game, canada, or whatever else would be awesome to go to.
